We are recruiting an experienced, graduate calibre, proactive Engineering Manager to co-ordinate the site engineering function and deliver the engineering plan in a cost effective manner at high volume, fast moving food manufacturing site that is going from strength to strength. The Engineering Manager should have experience of: • Leading a team of 20 engineers identifying ways to improve performance in a fast moving, high volume, 24/7 production environment without impacting on quality. • Improving engineering team performance through team training and development. • Working closely with production to keep machinery downtime at a minimum. • Planning preventative maintenance in advance to avoid production disruption. • Project management. • Budgetary control. • Developing a "one team" culture throughout the business. • Successful PKI/performance management. • Change management. We are recruiting a Control Instrumentation Engineer to head up the control instrumentation structure at a highly automated food manufacturing site and in particular to develop and implement a 3 year rolling obsolescence replacement strategy for instrument and control systems equipment on site. The nature of processes and product is such that the role would suit an engineer with a chemical, petrochemical or pharmaceutical background and expertise in instrumentation/ computer control systems. Responsibilities will include: • Defining and developing site standards to comply with relevant legislation. • Managing maintenance and technical development strategies of instrument/control systems to ensure production assets meet business requirements in terms of capacity, cost and reliability. • Recommending up-rating, replacement and improvements to systems as required. • Designing, constructing and commissioning instrument, control and electrical components of CI and capital projects. • Overseeing and providing technical guidance to electrical and instrument technicians. • Defining and managing strategy to support the distributed control system (ABB).
